Day 1450
Lifting day, but I felt good and decided to try a longer, slower run. Felt Ok, though the legs were tired. I think Monday's lifting and the BLF yesterday are catching up to me. The hips were tight at first, but they loosened up nicely.

Slowing Down
After last summer, I was seriously thinking about ending my streak. I was beat up and sore, and struggled to run some days. Not mentally, just physically. I worried about the level of activity.
I hit three years, and things got easier. I was on the road a bit and managed to run, weather was good, and I took it easy after I hit the end of the year. I did 754miles last year, and decided averaging 2mi/day was a bit much with my other activities.
This year I stopped karate, slowed down a bit, and am running in the upper 50s each month for mileage. The big months came in Mar and July, when I was traveling more and running in unfamiliar routes, going a bit longer.
I'm feeling OK, though baseball has been harder this year. Looking forward to a month of just running and lifting in Sept/Oct before skiing starts.

Tired legs, a little sore. Tight hips. Not looking forward to a BFL run. The start was hard, walking at 4.5mph was a strain and sore, but it got better. Pushed up to 6.2/6.6/7/0/7.4/7.8 for my intervals.

A Sore Knee
I pounded outside for a longer, faster run than normal recently and I knew I was hitting the ground hard. My right knee too most of the pounding for some reason.
The next morning I hit the treadmill and it was sore, but not too bad. However a day later, and an activity filled day of running, and other exercise, and it was swollen slightly, sore to the touch, and I used ice. I ran slower for a few days, and it felt better.
I've been able to run through a lot of injuries across the last 3 plus years, injuries that would have sidelined me for weeks in the past. In that time I've learned a few things, at least I think I have. I'll never know if I'd done damage here or not, but here's what I think.
The body can recover quicker than you think, at least from minor soreness-type injuries. They're injuries, but not debilitating.
Rest doesn't necessarily speed up the process much, and I think it makes it harder for you to get back into the routine of exercise, especially for us non-pro-atheletes.
Active rehabilitation is better, doing some motion and work with the body. Slowing down, and reducing the duration has worked well for me.
