Day 2 - Lift/Swim
I was hemming and hawing on what to do today. The body ached a little, and the legs were tired after rowing yesterday. I had planned on swimming, but then thought I'd take it easy, and eventually chastised myself and hit the pool.
But first I lifted. Not had, not long. About 15 minutes back and shoulers (and a few abs) just to work. Then it was in the pool, where I struggled. I did some 100s, pushing to get them done on the 2:00 (about 15s rest most intervals), and then settled into some 200s that were just swimming. Just covering distance.
It was a struggle today, but I am glad I did it.

Day 1 - Biathalon
A friend wanted to run this morning, and since I'm leaving town, I agreed. An early morning wake up, and a 1.75mi run around downtown Charlotte. It felt OK, but the muscles were stiff, the ankle sore and I struggled to get through it. It was tough, and I almost stopped there, but I rested for 30 minutes and then walked over to the natatorium for a swim.
It was a long setup, 50m in a pool where some kids were training. I was slow and struggling, but I managed to push through a nice 1100m.

A good one today. I decided to just swim, and after 100 warmup, I busted out a 500 at an easy pace. It felt good, but I was concentrating too much on counting. Need to set up a system.

Three Days Off

Friday I was up early, at the event all day, and worried about my energy with 4 talks, so I didn't work out in the am. After the event it was dinner with my boss and by the time I made it to Heathrow, it was 10pm.

Day 32 - Elliptical
Up in Vegas, but not wanting to spend too much time before work today. I hit the club in the hotel and noticed an elliptical machine. Since the right knee has been sore, I decided to give it a try. After a few sun salutes to warm up, I jumped on. It was a decent workout, but I didn't have the level high enough.

Slow
After 2 weeks since I last ran, I got out today and went further. I did a 5k, actually a touch over, and was glad I did. I run too little when I run and doing the 4 miles in Bellevue, which didn't killed me, reminded me I can and should do more.
This was slow, but not as horrible as I might have thought. I was tired, trying to baby the knee a little, and still was under 30, which was good.
Glad to be back running.

A long sports day. First baseball in the am. Batting practice, a little throwing, but since I threw to 4 or 5 people, I was sweaty and tired. A good morning workout.
The afternoon was watching a volleyball clinic with my daughter before we did some open practice together. It wasn't as intense as other days, but it was a decent workout.

A Day Off
